YEDC is comprised of area business owners, citizens, local government, and elected officials. We seek to partner with State agencies, educational institutions, and other organizations essential to the growth of Yeadon Borough.

HISTORY
In 2001 the Yeadon Borough Council formed a Yeadon Borough Comprehensive Plan Task Force to work along with the Delaware County Planning Department to create a Comprehensive Plan for the Borough. Within the Comprehensive Plan was an Economic Development suggestion, recommending the Borough organize a Town Center Community Development Corporation (CDC). The CDC was formed and was in existence for a few years. In 2010 the CDC took a brief hiatus. It reformed to the current Yeadon Economic Development Corporation during the summer of 2011. A call was sent out to the community, seeking interested individuals who wanted to join the new organization.
In July of 2011 eight individuals from the community came together for the first initial meeting of the YEDC. Thru the years there were additions and subtractions from the Board. Asher Kemp, Isaac Dotson, Miles Fields, Earl Boyd and currently Michelle Haines have all served as Chair.
Between 2011 and the present, the YEDC obtained it’s non-profit 501c 3 status as well and created and participated in several projects including a Yeadon Community SWOT Analysis, Community Health Fairs, Small Business Saturday events and a Business Meet and Greet. With the cooperation of the Yeadon Borough, the YEDC spearheaded the Gateway Signage Project during Mr. Dotson term as Chairman. Mr. Dotson was instrumental in driving this project and the project created new Gateway signs at all of the Borough gateway entrances as well as new signage inside and outside of Borough Hall.
The YEDC continues to look for new opportunities to help Yeadon grow its business, community and housing potential.
